MARDI GRAS!
(PASSING and crossdressing)
BY JODI LYNN
I signed up recently to attend my church's annual Mardi Gras dinner/party in
Indiana, Pa. Costumes were recommended. This is an annual affair and is well
attended. I've belonged to this church for 30 years and know most all of
the people well. I tossed around the idea of going en femme, but was not sure.
I broached the idea with several of the women I know from the church.
I did not say I was a CD, but mentioned that I would do a female
impersonation. These women were all enthusiastic and said, Do it.
The night of the party was Tuesday--Mardi Gras. I came home from work
early and got started. I wanted the look to be nice, but not gaudy. After all,
I was going to a church function. I picked out a nice top, black skirt and
conservative black heels. I walked into the church hall, not
saying anything to anyone. There were about 60 people there. A woman
I know well came over to me and asked if I had registered. I used
my regular voice and replied Yes. She just stared and then lost it.
Others gave the same reaction. I got the shock action I wanted. All in
all, it was total acceptance. During dinner I got all of the typical
questions. Who did my makeup? How can you walk in those heels?
One woman just had to know where I got my shoes. She loved them.
The party lasted about three hours. I think some people might suspect I'm
a CD, but I really don't care. What I did note was there was nothing derogatory
mentioned from any of the people there. I had a ball. They had a Dixie-land
jazz band playing for entertainment. Two of the women just insisted
on dancing with me. They wanted to see how well I could dance in heels.
